2-HEN and 4-HEN STARTER PACKS
Our starter packs contain everything you need to start keeping hens. You can buy a starter pack to accomodate up to two hens (€390) or four hens (€500). They contain all of the following:
A hen with space to move around and do normal hen things, is a happy hen. That's why we only sell houses that are nice and roomy, well ventilated, with a separate nest box and plenty of head height for the perches.
The Tippy Chicks hen house is supplied with a run and both the house and run can be moved around your garden occasionally to give the hens fresh grass. The run is completely separate so you have the option to free range your hens if you can. The run opens at the top to give you access to the front door of the house.
The houses are completely fox-proof and are tried and tested (by foxes!). Over the years we've bought plenty of houses made with poor quality wood, flimsy hardware and inadequate fastenings. So that's why we decided to make our own - the heavy hinges and bolts may make them look like they're designed for keeping a wild beast contained inside, but they're actually just to make sure nothing can get IN!
They are comfy for your hens and easy for you to clean out and move around your garden if you wish.
The house has two doors at the back - one for collecting your eggs and the other for cleaning the house out. Hens come and go via a ramp in the front of the house.
Our houses have been designed to make life easier for the hen keeper and comfier for the hens. They are not mass produced - each feature has been carefully thought about and we feel the design is a good one for both the hens and you, the hen keeper. The dimensions of the 2-hen house are 82cm (L) x 57cm (W) x 65cm (H).The run is 6ft in length.
The dimensions of the 4-hen house are 94cm (L) x 61cm (W) x 83cm (H). The run is 7ft in length.
If you would like to order this package you can either pay in full now or pay a €50 deposit, with the remainder payable on delivery. You can collect the package from us in Tipperary (you will need a van or a large jeep with a roof rack) or we will deliver and set up the house for you (within reasonable distance) for an additional €50.
